MY STORY

I trained as an African Traditional Healer over a period of 2 years in the Amampondo and Swazi traditions and have been practicing for over 19 years, learning and increasing my knowledge throughout this time, with more training with various teachers and mentors. During my training I lived with various teachers in the Transkei, Gugulethu, townships in Johannesburg and Mpumalanga. Before this I Managed a health shop and studied Nutrition, herbal medicine and natural healing, including courses in Shiatsu, Environmental Education and Macrobiotics. I have a great passion for studying our living organism, the earth, biodiversity and all its creatures and peoples.  I have a busy practice in Cape Town and see clients regularly as a Traditional Healer and Family Constellation Therapist. My work with clients is often focused on healing trauma and the Nervous system using somatic techniques as well as guiding clients in mindfulness practice and understanding in order to bring mental clarity focus and inner peace. I work with couples and parent and child dynamics. I also teach aspects of diagnosis, healing and medicinal plant use on a weekly basis.

In 2016 I trained in Family Constellation Therapy , with its roots in the Zulu tradition , this has been an incredibly useful method to add to and enhance my practice.

I lived on a farm which uses bio-dynamic and permaculture principles and I was blessed to be able to witness the harmony of an environment when allowed to thrive in this natural way, with each animal, insect, plant, mineral, leaf, seed pod etc. playing a vital role in the harmony of the whole. In working with clients and through my training over the years I have come to see that it is the same for us. We too are deeply connected to the environment in which we live, and the environment has a strong influence on our state of health and vice verse.

When we are conscious of the sustainability of our environment and we are in harmony and connected to it, including our connection to our family, our community, the earth, our society and our lineages and the whole is a healthy system, we are then healthy in mind, body and spirit. So when working to bring about healing in clients it is important to reintegrate the individual with their environment ( to create wholeness and sustainability  within the environment) as a healthy and whole system.

I believe in living life light heartedly, always taking the time to play and to see the funny side to any situation. I find my greatest joy when I am in Nature and around good friends. Nature for me is our most powerful medicine
